Service will start early next year.

American and Canada’s Porter have signed a new codeshare agreement that officials said lays the groundwork for a closer relationship between the two carriers.

In a statement, ALPA said it recently received certification from the Canada Industrial Relations Board to represent over 800 pilots at Porter.

Pilots with Canada’s Porter Airlines have taken a major step toward joining the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), becoming the union’s 43rd labor group.
